Dedicated Fibre Leased Line
Leased lines are typically used by businesses and organisations that require high-speed, reliable connectivity for their critical operations. Any business that needs to transfer large amounts of data, run bandwidth-intensive applications, or require constant internet access can benefit from a leased line.
Leased lines can be particularly useful for businesses that require the following:
- Fast and reliable internet connectivity: Businesses that rely on cloud-based services, VoIP (voice over internet protocol), or other internet-based applications require fast and reliable internet connectivity, which a leased line can provide.
- Consistent bandwidth: Leased lines offer symmetrical bandwidth, which means that businesses can rely on a consistent level of upload and download speeds, regardless of network congestion or peak usage times.
- Secure and private connectivity: Leased lines are private circuits that are not shared with other users, which means that businesses can enjoy a secure and private connection for their critical operations.
Overall, leased lines are generally suited to businesses that require high-speed, reliable, and secure connectivity for their critical operations and are willing to invest in a dedicated and premium service.

Can I get a leased line?
Yes, however, there is usually an installation cost associated with getting a leased line. The cost of installation can normally be waived depending on several factors, such as the distance to the premises, the type of infrastructure required, and the length of the contract taken.
In addition to the installation cost, there are also ongoing monthly charges for using a leased line, which can vary depending on the bandwidth required and the providers presence in that location.
What are the advantages of a leased line?
- Symmetrical ultrafast download and upload speeds
- Upgrade your speeds to match your business’s ongoing needs
- Leased lines are more secure and private than a standard broadband line
- Guaranteed Leased Line speeds through service level agreements (SLA)
- Priority fault resoultion
- Static IP addresses as standard
- Your leased line connection can be monitored 24/7
It’s worth noting that leased lines are generally considered a premium service, and the costs can be higher compared to other types of internet connectivity options, such as broadband. However, the benefits of a leased line, such as consistent high-speed connectivity, reliable service, and increased security, can outweigh the higher cost for businesses that require a dedicated and reliable connection for their critical operations.

Leased Line FAQ
- What is a Leased Line?
- Can I increase the Bandwidth at any time?
- What happens once I place a Leased Line order?
- What is the average Leased Line lead time?
Leased lines offer high bandwidth and low latency, which makes them ideal for businesses that require reliable and fast internet connectivity for their mission-critical applications. Since the line is dedicated solely to the customer, there is no sharing of bandwidth with other users, and the customer has full control over the use of the line.
Your leased line will have a maximum achievable speed, sometimes referred to as the bearer, this is the second number. ie 100/1000Mb is 100Mb that the customer receives but the pipe/bearer is capable of 1000Mb. This means that an upgrade of speed is achievable. However, this may result in an extension of your existing contract, or signing a new contract depending on the provider.
Once the order has been placed, we will be in touch to arrange a site survey. Whilst every effort will have been made to predict the installation cost, all orders on Leased Lines and Alternative Network Fibre is subject to survey. If Excess Construction Charges are identified on the survey then these will be explained, at this point you have the option to cancel your order or accept the ECCs and proceed.
Typical lead times for a Leased Line with providers such as 02, Talk Talk, Vodafone and BT is 65 working days from placing your order. This can be much quicker if existing infrastructure is identified or much longer on complex sites.
